Le Chant de la Perle

For his exhibition at Galerie Miyu, Florent Morin proposes to explore Le Chant de la Perle, a poem taken from the Acts of Thomas, an apocryphal biblical text.

The poem tells the story of a prince who is sent by his parents to find a pearl protected by a dragon in a distant land. During his exile, the prince forgets his quest and becomes an aimless wandering beggar. It is only thanks to a letter sent in the form of an eagle that he is able to regain his memory, and complete his quest.

Are we like the prince of the pearl song? Amnesiac, wandering in our life as in an unknown country, looking for the letter of the eagle which will give us access to the memory of our native country.
