Thami Nabil

Born in 1992, Thami Nabil lives and works in Paris. His artistic practice is primarily expressed through commissioned projects, involving the creation of animations and video clips, which he undertakes independently or in collaboration. In 2022, he co-directed the music video Bientôt la Lumière by Mad Rey with Hedi Nabil, and the music video Poster Child for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, co-directed with Julien Calemard. In 2019, he directed the music video for Odezenne’s track En L.

Thami Nabil is also frequently sought after for projects related to his drawing practice. In 2022, he notably created the double cover for the album Return of Dream Canteen by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 2021, he received a Special Mention in the Urban Art Revelation Prize from the Palais de Tokyo in 2021, in collaboration with Julien Calemard.

Thami Nabil draws inspiration from the idealization of underground movements and counterculture that marked the 1990s-2000s. He discovers in the remnants of these movements genuine works telling their own mythologies, highlighting the human and energetic dynamics that characterize them.

This artistic approach is strongly influenced, on the one hand, by the diversity of tools at his disposal, offering him a variety of approaches and methods to create images. On the other hand, it is nourished by his collaborations with other artists who share his passion for imagery.
