Nominated for the Sciences Po Prize for Contemporary Art in 2015, he was the winner of the ArtCollector Prize in 2018 and competed for the Drawing Now Art Fair Prize in 2021. Since 2017, he has participated in artist residencies, including those at the International Pole of Prehistory (Dordogne) and the Fayoum Art Center in the Fayoum Oasis, Egypt.

In his desire to explore the memory of places, past lives, or previous events, Mathieu Dufois examines by re-appropriating cinematic sequences or archival images from bygone eras.
