Cyril Pedrosa

Born in 1972, Cyril Pedrosa pursued studies in animation at the Gobelins school before briefly working at Disney Studios.

His encounter with writer David Chauvel changed the path of his career and inspired him to turn to comic books. This collaboration led to the creation of about ten works starting in 1998, including the tetralogy Ring Circus (Delcourt editions). After this successful collaboration, Cyril began working on his own stories, including Three Shadows (Essential Prize winner at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2008) and Portugal (published in the Aire Libre collection by Dupuis), which was released in 2011, brought him widespread recognition.

His latest work The Golden Age, a political fable in two volumes co-written with Roxanne Moreil, with the final volume released in 2020, received the BD Fnac-France Inter Prize in 2018.

In addition to his work as a comic book author, Cyril initiates contemporary drawing projects and also works on animation film projects. He is involved in the graphic development of Wolfwalkers (feature film by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart) and directed the music video Paladines for Lenparrot in 2019. Currently, he is working on the development of his animated feature film project: The Long Night (Miyu Productions and Modern Magic).
