He studied drawing for two years at the \u00c9cole \u00c9mile Cohl before training in animation filmmaking at the Gobelins School and later at CalArts in Los Angeles. His works have been selected in numerous international festivals. <em>Adama<\/em>, his first feature film, was nominated for the C\u00e9sar Awards and the European Film Awards as one of the best animated films of the year in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Simon Rouby was a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome, where the project <em>Pangea<\/em> was conceived. Subsequently, he was awarded from the Atelier des Ailleurs, a residency initiated by the Ministry of Culture \u2013 Directorate of Cultural Affairs of La R\u00e9union and the French Southern and Antarctic Lands. He spent several months in the Kerguelen Islands, capturing numerous landscape images.
