Kyrielle

Extract

Description

The word Kyrielle literally means “long sequence of varied things”, like the game of kyrielles which is a nursery rhyme, taking as a first syllable the last syllable of the previous expression.

The repetition of cycles and rhythms has a hypnotic quality and encourages the viewer to look around while exploring the different faces in a playful way. This palindrom develop to a complex symmetric abstraction and then return to the minimalist aesthetics of the initial white background.

Cartel

  • Video Installation (loop)
  • Animation and sound: Boris Labbé
  • EMCA 2011
  • Watercolour on paper, 285 original drawings 42 x 30 cm, computer compositing
